Product Description:

The CryoIQ veterinary device is a handheld cryosurgery/cryotherapy instrument designed for use by veterinarians. It uses pre-filled nitrous oxide (N₂O) cartridges to apply extreme cold to lesions in animals (cats, dogs, small mammals, even some large animals) in order to freeze and destroy abnormal tissue, such as warts, benign tumours or certain skin conditions.

Key features & specs

  • The system uses nitrous oxide cartridges (e.g., 25 g) that deliver cryogen at high pressure (~50 bar / 725 psi) to rapidly freeze tissue.

  • Freezing temperatures of around –89 °C (–128 °F) for liquid spray mode.

  • Two modes of application:

    • Liquid spray freezing via micro-capillaries for pinpoint precision.

    • Contact freezing: closed tip applicators cooled by cryogen, then applied to lesion.

  • A variety of interchangeable tips to handle different lesion sizes and locations (in the PRO model, which is also used in veterinary practice) — e.g., tips for Ø1-6 mm, Ø7-18 mm etc.

  • Cartridges are claimed to have a shelf life of up to ~3 years and designed with safety features (internal valve, OxiBlock® coating) for veterinary use.

What is it used for (in veterinary practice)

In animal patients, the CryoIQ device is applied in many settings for skin/soft-tissue lesions. Examples:

  • Warts and papillomas in dogs/cats.

  • Eyelid tumours or masses in animals (because precision is essential around sensitive structures).

  • Tail/tail-base tumours, paw/pad mast cell tumours, ear/mouth lesions.

  • Cysts, skin tags, benign tumours in domestic animals.

Because the procedure is minimally invasive, it can often avoid major surgery, general anaesthesia, long recovery etc.
